Reduced Rate Program

The Reduced Rate Program at CSUN Student Housing offers a limited number of eligible student residents a rate reduction on their housing costs. Selected students will see their monthly installment payment reduced by $195. For example: If the standard installment payment for your living type is $973, your reduced rate will be $778 per installment.

The Reduced Rate Program is made possible through a state-funded student housing construction grant.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, students must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act (CADA) Application and be eligible for Pell Grant or state aid equivalency. Your housing license agreement must be completed and contracted no later than June 30 to be eligible for this program. Waitlisted applicants are not eligible.

How to Apply

To apply, select 'yes' to express your interest in the program when completing your Student Housing application no later than June 30, 2026 or before we start a wait list, whichever comes first (an application is considered complete once you are contracted).  Please note, housing applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The program recipients will be selected by lottery.

How do I know if I am selected for the program?
