Reduced Rate Program

The Reduced Rate Program at CSUN Student Housing offers a limited number of eligible student residents a rate reduction on their housing costs. Selected students will receive a reduced rate of approximately $185.00 per monthly installment. The Reduced Rate Program is made possible through a state-funded student housing construction grant.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, students must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act (CADA) Application and be eligible for Pell Grant or state aid equivalency. 

How to Apply

To apply, select 'yes' to express your interest in the program when completing your Student Housing application by no later than June 30, 2025. Please note, housing applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The program recipients will be awarded based on a lottery drawing. 

How do I know if I am selected for the program?

Students selected for the program will be notified by August 18th, 2025 via email. If you have questions about the Reduces Rate Program, please email housing@csun.edu.
