What Wireless Network Options Are Available?
Wi-Fi = Eduroam
Eduroam grants you access to the Internet without having to log in every time! Following a one-time setup, connect to the "eduroam" wireless network anywhere on campus, or anytime you visit an eduroam-member institution, which includes several CSUs and other universities throughout the U.S. and the world. Who can access the wireless network?
CSUN students, faculty, staff, and guests who have a valid user ID and password.
Guest Accounts
To request a guest account, university departments should complete the Guest Account Request form. To learn more about guest accounts, visit the Guest Accounts page.
How do I access the wireless network?
For access instructions, locate your OS or device from the following list. Note: Gaming devices (e.g. Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox etc.) are not compatible. Please note, to access the network, CSUN email addresses should be used.

Android Device Eduroam Setup
To begin the setup process, please verify that Wi-Fi has been enabled.
- From the Home menu, select Settings.
- In the Settings window, select Network & Internet.
- Select Wi-Fi settings.
- Under Wi-Fi networks select eduroam.
- Under EAP method, select PEAP.
- Under Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.
- Under CA certificate select Use System Certificates.
- Under Online Certificate Status select Do not verify. If this option is not available, continue with next step.
- Domain is eduroam.csun.edu.
- In the Identity field, enter your full CSUN email address (firstname.lastname@csun.edu).
- In the Anonymous identity field, leave blank.
- In the Password field, enter the password for your CSUN account.
- Advanced options, no changes required.
- Select Connect.
Note: If setup is successful, the network displays under Wi-Fi networks with “Connected” underneath it.
Android Device EduRoam Password Update
To begin the setup process, please verify that Wi-Fi has been enabled.
- From the Home menu, select Settings.
- In the Settings window, select Network & Internet.
- Select Wi-Fi settings.
- Under Wi-Fi networks, select eduroam.
- Select Forget.
- Under Wi-Fi networks, select eduroam.
- Under EAP method, select PEAP.

- Under CA certificate select Do not verify.
- In the Identity field, enter your CSUN email address (firstname.lastname@csun.edu).

iPhone Eduroam Set-Up
To begin the setup process, please verify that Wi-Fi has been enabled.
1. From the Home menu, select Settings.
2. In the Settings window, select Wi-Fi from the list of available options.
3. If the eduroam network displays, select eduroam and enter your CSUN email address and password.
4. Accept the security certificate. Set-up is complete.
5. If the network does not display, proceed to step six.
6. Select Other....
7. Under Name, enter eduroam (lower-case).
8. Under Security, select WPA2 Enterprise.
9. Accept the security certificate.
10. Return to Other Networks and enter your CSUN email address and password.
11. Select the Join button to complete the process.
*Note: If setup is successful, the network displays under Wi-Fi settings and a checkmark indicates that you are connected.
iPhone Eduroam Password Update
To begin the setup process, please verify that Wi-Fi has been enabled.
1. From the Home menu, select Settings.
2. In the Settings window, select Wi-Fi from the list of available options.
3. Select the arrow button for the Wi-Fi network selected (eduroam).
4. Select Forget Network.
5. Select Forget.
6. Go back to view the network connections.
7. Select the Wi-Fi network, eduroam.
8. Enter your CSUN email address and password and accept the certificate.
9. Select the Join button to complete the process

iPad Eduroam Set-Up
To begin the setup process, please verify that Wi-Fi has been enabled.
1. From the Home menu, select Settings.
2. In the Settings window, select Wi-Fi from the list of available options.
3. Select Other.
4. Under Name, enter eduroam (lower-case).
5. Under Security, select WPA2 Enterprise.
6. Return to Other Networks and enter your CSUN email address and password.
7. Select the Join button to complete the process. Note: If setup is successful, the network displays under Wi-Fi settings and a checkmark indicates that you are connected.

Setting Up the Eduroam Network
1.Select the AirPort icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.
2. If there is no eduroam option, select Other Networks then Other…
3. The Find and join a Wi-Fi network window displays. Enter or select the following:
- In the Network Name field, type eduroam. This is a case-sensitive field.
- From the Security drop-down menu, select WPA2 Enterprise.
- From the Mode drop-down menu select Automatic.
4. Additional fields open (see Figure 3, below). Enter or select the following:
- In the Username field (enter your CSUN email address)
- In the Password field enter your CSUN Password.
- Make sure that the Remember this network checkbox is checked.
5. Select the Join button.
Note: if you typed in your Username and/or password incorrectly, you may be asked to enter the information again.
6. Select the Continue button on the Verify Certificate window.
7. If configuration is successful, you should now see eduroam as an option in your AirPort connection options. It should also have the encrypted (lock) symbol next to it.
