Outdoor Space Reservations
The Matador Involvement Center (MIC) oversees the reservation process for more than 40 different outdoor University spaces, including:
- Matador Square
- Matador Walk
- OST Lawn
- Sierra Quads
- University Lawns

Concrete Table Reservations
- The Matador Involvement Center (MIC) oversees tabling requests for concrete tables located on campus.
- There are 14 concrete tables available for RSOs and departments to reserve. Requesters must use the provided concrete tables to table on campus.
- Tables are scheduled based on availability and need.

How to Reserve Outdoor Space and Tables
- University departments or programs and recognized student organizations (RSOs) in good standing with the Matador Involvement Center (MIC) and the University can submit a request for outdoor space and/or tabling.
- To submit a request to reserve an outdoor space and/or concrete table managed by the Matador Involvement Center (MIC) select the form that best describes the group submitting the request.
- Students that need to request an outdoor space and/or concrete table for a class project can use the form designated for University Departments and Programs.
Insurance Requirements for Fraternity and Sorority Organizations
Organizations that meet the criteria of a fraternity or sorority, as determined by the CSUN student organization registration process, must provide a Certificate of Insurance as proof of general liability insurance, prior to conducting activities (excludes informational activities) on campus. In addition to providing the Certificate of Insurance (COI) the organization must provide a Letter of Endorsement which list the university as additionally insured. Specifically, the letter must include the following language:
“The State of California, the Trustees of The California State University, California State University, Northridge, and employees, officers, directors, volunteers, and agents (collectively “University”) are named additional insured under the terms of this policy as to the activities of the insured.”
- When submitting a request for outdoor space and/or a concrete table, chapters are required to upload a copy of the (1) Certificate of Insurance and (2) Letter of Endorsement.
- Additionally, if multiple fraternity and/or sorority organizations will be participating in the event (or activity), every chapter involved must provide the required insurance documents.
- The request for outdoor space and/or concrete table will not be approved until all required documents have been reviewed and approved by the Office of Risk Management.

Important Information
- Depending on the type of event, requests for outdoor space can take seven (7) to thirty (30) business days to be processed.
- The MIC recommends submitting requests at least fourteen (14) business days prior to the proposed event date.
- Requests that require a fire permit must be submitted at least thirty (30) business days in advance.
- Requests received less than seven (7) business days prior to the event may be denied.
- A separate request must be submitted for each event and/or tabling date.
- Amplified sound is only allowed for one (1) hour between 11am and 1pm. Sound cannot exceed 75dbA to 90dbA when measured 50 feet from the source.
- High risk activities such as tug-of-war, mechanical bull rides, etc. are not allowed on campus.
- Raffles and 50/50 ticket sales are not allowed.

Posting and Distributing Materials on Campus
University departments, programs and recognized student organizations in good standing with the Matador Involvement Center and the University can request to market events, programs, services and the organization on campus. This includes: posting literature, distributing literature, using A-frames, billboards, or lawn signs.

University departments, programs and recognized student organizations in good standing with the Matador Involvement Center (MIC) and the University must submit the Request to Promote on Campus for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) and University Programs and Departments form prior to posting and/or distributing materials on campus.
Off Campus Entities
Off campus entities interested in tabling and/or distributing literature on campus must submit the Request to Reserve Tabling Reservations and Literature Distribution for Off Campus Entities form prior to tabling and/or distributing materials on campus.
