Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission:

We provide students an opportunity to participate in sports and recreational activities, and compete against colleges and universities from across the state and country as individuals and as members of teams. Each sport club is student-run, and strives to develop students’ leadership and athletic skills.

Vision: 

Developing champions in sports and life.

Values:

- Academic Integrity: we emphasize that our participants are students first and must prioritize their academic success.
- Growth: we strive for growth in every part of athlete’s lives, starting with physical sport-specific skill development, then emphasizing academic growth as well.
- Leadership: leadership is a key piece of any sports team and will assist them in their future.
- Competition: success is one of our most important values as we strive to be one of the premier sport club departments in California, and in the country.
- Diversity: we aim to ensure equitable consideration and opportunity in all of our sport clubs.
- Welcoming: sport clubs are and should be a home for any and every student here at CSUN.
- Teamwork: each athlete will learn how to work and perform as members of a larger group.
