Boxing Training Program
Knock out your fitness goals with the Boxing Training Program! Located in the SRC’s Determination Studio, this program is designed to assist all SRC members who are interested in participating in boxing as an alternative workout. With the supervision and guidance of our in- house Boxing Fitness Assistants (BFA), you can learn various boxing techniques and drills in a safe and controlled environment. Whether you are new to boxing or more advanced, the Boxing Training Program is for everyone. Fitness & Sport Specific Benefits
- Challenge your balance and control by perfecting the traditional boxing stance and footwork.
- Increase your upper body endurance and overall cardiovascular endurance while learning the basics associated with striking through the six (6) most common punches used in boxing.
- Continue to challenge yourself by learning new combinations while still increasing your neuromuscular efficiency.
- Take your training to the next level by learning defensive techniques like dips, slips and counterpunching. Not only will you continue to increase neuromuscular efficiency, you will begin to challenge your cognitive function and agility.
Interested participants must sign up for the Boxing Training Program at the Total Training Zone desk during the hours of operation listed below. New participants will be required to complete a 45-60 minute introductory orientation regardless of boxing experience.

Steps to Participate in the Boxing Training Program
Step 1
Come prepared with your boxing wraps ready to go. If you need a set of boxing wraps, you can purchase some at the front desk for $5.66.
Step 2
Make your way to the Total Training Zone desk located on the left side of the SRC and ask for a Boxing Training Program pass. If this is your first time, you will receive a red pass and you will complete a one-time 45-minute orientation go- ing over the Boxing Training Program guidelines, equipment walkthrough and an introductory boxing workout.
If you are given a green pass, you will no longer need to complete the orientation and will be allowed to enter the Boxing Training Program and utilize all equipment at your own leisure.
Step 3
Continue to the Determination Studio (located on the second floor) and give your pass to the Boxing Fitness Assistant where you will receive further instruction.
- In order to gain access to the Determination Studio, members must sign up at Total Training Zone Desk to receive studio pass.
- Members must complete an orientation session, regardless of previous Martial Arts experience.
- Members who use the studios are expected to respect the instructor, other members and equipment at all times.
- No outside personal training and coaching allowed (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, Rule 1)
- The use of abusive and/or profane language is prohibited (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, Rule 20).
- Absolutely no sparring of any kind (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, Rule 5).
- No spitting on the floors.
- Members are expected to maintain proper hygiene when using the studios. Please do not wear heavy perfumes or fragrant lotions.
- All members are required to use a towel during their workout. (SRC Facility Guidelines; Towel Service).
- All members must wear proper workout attire (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, Rule 12 and 13).
- No exposed/loose jewelry is to be worn in the studios (this includes rings, long earrings or facial/body piercing, bracelets and necklaces).
- All members must wear hand wraps when using the boxing equipment. Members must sterilize hands with sanitizer before wrapping hands and after workout.
- Open finger gloves are not permitted when using the boxing studio equipment. Only heavy bag gloves of 14oz or greater are allowed.
- All equipment must be obtained through a Boxing Fitness Assistant and returned to the Boxing Fitness Assistant at the end of the workout.
- When four (4) or more members are using the boxing studios, the rule of three rounds will be enforced on each piece of equipment.
- No kickboxing or MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) allowed in boxing studio.
- No food or drinks are allowed within the studios except for bottled water in plastic containers (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, rule 15 and 16).
- The SRC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Personal items, not being worn, must be kept in designated storage areas and secured. (SRC Facility Guidelines; User Responsibility, Rule 14).
