Music: M.M.: Percussion Performance
The Master of Music option in Performance offers the opportunity to study the art of classical instrumental performance at the graduate level. Students in percussion performance continue their core studies in Music History and Theory and have a number of elective opportunities in their area of interest. Each student takes lessons throughout their 4 semesters in the program and participates in major ensembles. Master classes with major artists are offered yearly. The culminating experience is the performance of a public recital or lecture recital and the preparation of an abstract.
Masters students in percussion performance have a unique opportunity at CSUN to truly develop their own voice as percussionists while tackling any weaknesses that will allow them to blossom as well-rounded performers. Once you are accepted into our program, you will have the opportunity to meet with our faculty to discuss your future goals as a performer and we will work to put you in a position that allows you to be successful on the path to achieve your career goals.
Current classical percussion faculty include:
- Aaron Smith
- John Roscigno
