Asexuality Archive is a collection of all things Ace. They hope to provide a comprehensive and uncensored look into what asexuality is, what it means to the community and how it shapes lives.

 

ACE Los Angeles is a social meetup, educational and outreach group for asexuals (ACE for short) and aromantics in the Southern California area.

ACE Los Angeles hosts social meetups twice a month. Additionally, they raise awareness through outreach and educational presentations and events.

 

Ace Week, formerly Asexual Awareness Week, is an international campaign dedicated to raising awareness and expanding education of asexuality.

 

A forum dedicated to giving resources and building (online) community.

 

This organization hosts the world's largest online asexual community and has a large archive with resources on asexuality.

They seek to create an open and honest discussion about asexuality between asexual and sexual people alike. Visit AVEN if you are new to asexuality and want to learn more.

 

amBi's mission is nothing less than to build a vibrant and visible bi community in Southern California.

amBi is a diverse social group that hosts public and private events and activities for bis, partners, and allies.

 

Created in 1996 as bisexual.org, their website began with the simple goal of letting bi people know that they are not alone.

American Institute of Bisexuality (bi.org) continues its mission to connect bi people around the world and provide accurate, accessible, scientifically-sound information about (bi)sexuality.

 

Committed to providing support to the bisexual community and raising public awareness about bisexuality and bisexual people.

 

Los Angeles Bi Task Force (LABTF) promotes education, advocacy, and cultural enrichment for the bisexual/fluid/pansexual communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.

 

Still Bisexual is a national bi+ advocacy organization that uses storytelling, education and mental health advocacy to help foster public acceptance, awareness and understanding of bisexual, pansexual, fluid, and queer identities.

 

The Deaf Queer Resource Center (DQRC) is a national nonprofit volunteer-run organization for, by and about the Deaf Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer communities committed to social justice. DQRC YouTube channel.

 

The Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (RAD) is a nonprofit Deaf LGBTQ organization. Every 2 years RAD hosts a national conference.

 

A 2SLGBTQQIA+ positive environment that focuses on creating a more accessible, affordable, and safer space for folks who want to learn ASL.

 

The purpose of Blind LGBT Pride is to provide for the betterment of the lives of those who are visually impaired and who are LGBT By providing a forum for the views and concerns of visually impaired persons interested in issues facing those who are LGBT.

 

Spoonie Collective provides workshops and panel discussions on the intersections of race, gender, and disability, disability justice, feminist theory, and more.

 

Serves LGBT and ally student leaders and campus organizations in the areas of leadership development, support programs and services to create safer, more inclusive campuses.

 

The Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals is a member-based organization working towards the liberation of LGBTQ people in higher education.

Gay Lesbian Education Straight Network (GLSEN) is the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students.

 

A national youth leadership organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to each other and community resources.

 

ONE Archives Foundation is the oldest active LGBTQ organization with the largest repository of LGBTQ materials in the world.

 

Out for Undergad (O4U)’s mission is to help high-achieving LGBTQ undergraduates reach their full potential through conferences, networking, and more. (Business, engineering, marketing and technology fields).

 

Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (oSTEM) is a national society dedicated to educating and fostering leadership for the LGBTQA communities in the STEM fields.

 

Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LAGLCC) promotes business networking among members and within the community at large.

 

Out & Equal’s goal is to transform workplaces, inspire leaders, and galvanize systemic change, providing resources and events to give you support on being out in the workplace.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center offers the Transgender Economic Empowerment Project (TEEP) to help transgender women and men develop professional skills, find employment with trans-friendly employers and thrive in the workplace.

 

BIENSTAR is a social service organization dedicated to positively impacting the health and well-being of the Latino community and other underserved communities in Southern California.

 

Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Center provides LGBT-affirmative counseling to address bullying and oppression and to nurture a new generation of empowered LGBTQ persons and leaders.

 

LifeWorks is a mentoring program for youth ages 12-24, matching mentees with an adult in the community and setting goals and guide them in being their absolute best selves.

Lifeworks is a part of the LA Gay and Lesbian Center.

 

The Los Angeles Gender Center (LAGC) provides an environment of safety, support and understanding for exploring gender and sexuality.

 

Planned Parenthood is dedicated to improving the communities’ sexual and reproductive health outcomes through health care, education, and advocacy.

 

Tarzana Treatment Center (TTC) offers services including addiction and substance abuse treatments, individual, group and family therapy, STI & HIV testing and treatment, and other health and mental health services.

 

A survivor-led, social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in LGBT, BDSM, polyamorous, and queer communities. Rooted in anti-oppression principles, their work aims to create a world where all people are free from oppression.

They strengthen communities through organizing, education, and the provision of support services.

    Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people ages 13-24. Some services provided include:

 

Trans Lifeline is a 501(C)(3) non-profit dedicated to the well-being of transgender people. Trans Lifeline runs a hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people.

The AIDS Web Site (HIV.gov) gives access, knowledge, and visibility of timely and relevant federal HIV policies, programs, responses, and resources to the American public.

 

Black Women for Wellness is committed to healing, educating, inspiring, and supporting black women, so they may tap their personal power to enhance and improve health and well-being.

 

Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s mission consists of preventing HIV infection, providing research, guidelines, and reducing the incidence of HIV-related illness and death.

 

HealthHIV is a national nonprofit working with organizations, communities, and health care providers to advance effective prevention, care, and support for people living with, or at risk for, HIV and HCV through education and training, technical assistance and capacity building, advocacy, and health services research and evaluation.

 

In The Meantime Men (ITMT)’s mission is to train youth of color in Los Angeles, and empower them with skills to develop innovative program initiatives that lead to social change in their own community.

 

LA Count Office of AIDS Programs and Policy was made in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Los Angeles County by helping to prevent HIV and STD spread, maximizing health and social outcomes, care and treatment services, and coordinating effective and efficient targeted services.

 

The Los Angeles LGBT Center provides HIV testing in their sexual health and prevention services, along with other LGBT health and mental healthcare.

 

The Mpowerment Project is a model HIV prevention program that has been specifically designed to address the needs of young gay and bisexual men.

 

The Office of AIDS (OA) is a division within the California Department of Public Health HIV/AIDS, providing resources and information on HIV testing and prevention.

 

Women Alive’s goal is to advocate, collaborate, and educate women and families in the community, improving the physical, mental, and emotional health of those living with HIV/AIDS.

 

InterACTbelieves that improving communication is a crucial part of improving care for children born with intersex traits.

 

InterConnect is a social community that strives to connect, heal, and empower intersex people around the world.

 

The Interface Project communicates the lived experiences of intersex people by recording the voices, transcribing the words, and publishing the stories of people born with a variation of sex anatomy.

 

The Intersex Justice Project wants intersex people to exist freely in communities without scrutiny from the medical establishment and put an end to non-consenting young intersex surgery.

 

The Houston Intersex Society (THIS) aims to empower and enrich the lives of intersex people while working to end shame and create visibility through education, community events, and the arts.

 

The Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice is an organization working exclusively to advance LGBTQI human rights around the globe through grantmaking, philanthropic advocacy, and resources.

 

The Lesbian Herstory Archives is home to the world's largest collection of materials by and about lesbians and their communities with the goal to gather and preserve records for future generations.

 

A national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

 

A social organization that strives to enrich the lives of lesbians, providing a fun and relaxed environment while supporting charities and events.

 

Avatar Club Los Angeles, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing information and education about safe, and consensual bondage, discipline, kinky and sadomasochistic (BDSM) sex between adults.

 

BDSM Communities and the Intersection of Queerness explains the history of and connections between BDSM and the queer community.

 

FetLife is a free social network for the BDSM and fetish community.

 

Los Angeles Leather Coalition (LALC) is a non-profit 501(c)4 organization which facilitates communications and mutual understanding among different segments of the leather-affiliated community, as well as promotes unity through cooperative endeavors that offer entertainment, education, social interaction, and community service.

Founded in 1972 as the world’s first synagogue by and for gay and lesbian Jews, Beth Chayim Chadashim (BBC) is a thriving, progressive, and welcoming Reform Jewish space for the LGBTQIA+ community, friends, and families.

 

Eshel’s mission is to create a future for Orthodox lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, and their families. Through its innovative and culturally sensitive programming, Eshel supports LGBTQ Jews, opening hearts, minds and doors in traditional Jewish communities.

 

Hollywood United Methodist Church celebrates its LGBTQIA+ family and says boldly ALL are welcomed, included and affirmed by this community of faith!

 

The Jewish Foundation of Los Angeles (JQ) envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ Jews feel a strong sense of self, pride, and community through community building, educational programs, and support services.

 

The Metropolitan Community Church in the valley (MCCUCCV) is an inclusive and green Christian community of faith, visit their website to learn more about their view on Homosexuality and the Bible.

 

The Founders Metropolitan Community Church Los Angeles (FMCCLA) was launched as the first gay church. Founded in 1968 by Rev. Troy Perry, Rev. Troy also performed the first public same-sex marriages.

With its illustrious 50-year history, FMCC continues today as a progressive and inclusive church that supports all LGBTQI and gender-nonconforming (GNC) communities.

 

Queer Dharma Meditation Group is and open community of meditation practitioners led by and for LGBTQI individuals and their friends.

 

St. Matthews Lutheran Church welcomes all with an intentional ministry supporting the gay and lesbian community.

 

The mission of the Institute for Judaism, Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity (HUC-JIR) — Los Angeles is to achieve complete inclusion, integration and welcoming of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in congregations and communities.
