Dependency Override Request
Students who are considered dependent per federal/state definition must provide parental information on their financial aid application. In extraordinary and documented cases, a financial aid administrator may override a student’s dependency status for the purpose of applying for financial aid.  Go to  https://live-csu-northridge.pantheonsite.io/financial-aid-scholarship-department/financial-aid-basics/appealsspecial-circumstances and read the information FAQs if you believe you have extraordinary circumstances which warrant a review of your dependency status for 2021-2022.

2021-2022 Verification of Non-filing 
Submit this form if we have requested you/spouse/parent to submit a 2019 verification of non-filing from the IRS and you have not been able to obtain that verification from the IRS or any tax authority.

Authorization to Release Information 
Submit this form to authorize the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department to release student or parent information to your parent. This form must be completed every year.

2021-2022 Confirmation of Update to Citizenship
Submit this form to confirm your U.S. citizenship status. You must submit this form along with a copy of your proof of your U.S. citizenship status. Do not send original citizenship documents by mail. For additional information, refer to How to Submit Proof of U.S. Citizenship guide.

2021-2022 Confirmation of Eligible Noncitizen Status  
Submit this form to confirm you are in an eligible noncitizen immigration status for financial aid purposes. Do not submit original immigration status documents by mail.  For additional information, refer to How to Submit Proof of Eligible Noncitizen Status guide.

2021-2022 Selective Service Registration  
Submit this form to notify the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department of your Selective Service registration status. Male students between the ages of 18 and 25 are required to register with Selective Service before financial aid eligibility can be determined. You must attach proof of your Selective Service registration or proof of your exemption status. Log in to the myNorthridge Portal, go to the SOLAR Student Center and review your To-Do List to see if the form is requested.  For additional information, refer to How to Submit Proof of Selective Service Registration guide.

2021-2022 Statement of Educational Purpose
Submit this form so that the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department can verify your identity and collect a Statement of Educational Purpose as required by the U.S. Department of Education. To safeguard our students and support virtual services, we have temporarily waived the requirement for you to present your unexpired valid government-issued photo identification (ID) in person or to have this form notarized. You have the option to mail a copy of your unexpired valid government-issued photo identification (ID) and this form to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department, upload the documents or fax them to 1-818-677-6787. Follow instructions on the Financial Aid and Scholarship home page for instructions on submitting completed forms.

Government ID Affidavit
Submit this form if unable to present proof of your eligible noncitizen document(s) in person.   You must sign the statement, have a notary public sign it to confirm that you appeared and presented the ID confirming your identity, and submit it with a copy of your ID.  Follow the instructions on the  Financial Aid and Scholarship home page for submitting completed forms.
