Dilled Green Peas

Preparation

In water boil

  • Pour 20 oz of green peas
  • Strain and reserve ⅓ of the cooking water

Place into a bowl and add

  • ⅓ cup of leftover cooking water
  • 1 tbsp of salad oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  • ¾ tbsp of dill weed
  • ¼ tbsp of dried basil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ tsp of pepper
  • Mix
  • Chill for 10 minutes
  • Discard the garlic from the mixture
  • Add 1 cup of celery
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
