Certifications

Certificate in Real Estate

The certificate in real estate prepares the individual who already holds a bachelor’s degree in a field other than real estate for entry into careers in real estate sales, brokerage, investment, management, appraisal, or mortgage banking. Our mission is to equip students with the academic knowledge, problem solving, analytical and professional skills in real estate necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.

The Certificate in real estate meets the requirements to sit for the California real estate Salesperson Exam. The certificate will not serve as a waiver to the experience requirements of the Broker License.

Applications are accepted every semester.  Please apply on the Cal State website.

Advanced Financial Modeling

The Advanced Financial Modeling Boot Camp (AFMBC) provides students with the career skills required to be “job ready on day one” in such fields as investment banking, private equity, venture capital, commercial real estate finance, and institutional asset and risk management.

The program is rigorous and is modeled on in-house, new-hire training programs at private firms in transaction-intensive industries. It consists of lectures, discussion groups and distinguished guest speakers which, provide a deep dive into the structure, culture and sub-specialties of the target industries.

The one-year, six-course program features...

  • Work-friendly scheduling: Classes meet one evening per week and every other Saturday morning
  • A community of peers: Classes are taught in the cohort format. This not only ensures on-time completion and maximizes interaction with faculty; it also encourages the development of valuable relationships with classmates who share similar career goals and paths
  • Exceptional support services: The complete and on-going support of a designated program manager for all students, from application to graduation, frees them to focus on their studies and careers.
