Nazarian College's bachelor of science in business administration degree programs share the following core Program Learning Outcomes:

  • PLO1 - Communication: The student will write professional business reports, deliver strong oral presentations and create effective visual materials. 
  • PLO2 - Critical Thinking: The student will identify and analyze problems and devise appropriate solutions using qualitative and quantitative techniques. 
  • PLO3 - Ethics: The student will identify ethical dilemmas, analyze them from multiple perspectives, develop solutions, and support their decisions. 
  • PLO4 - Global Context and Diversity: The student will recognize and evaluate the role of diversity, inclusion and multiculturalism in the global business environment. 
  • PLO5 - Cross-Disciplinary Knowledge: The student will demonstrate proficiency in the functional areas of business as well as the ability to synthesize and apply this knowledge across disciplines.
  • PLO6 - Information Technology: The student will demonstrate proficiency in current information technology integrated in business.

Note: Accounting students also achieve an additional outcome:

  • PLO7 - Accounting Content Areas: The student will demonstrate proficiency in the four accounting content areas of financial accounting, cost accounting, taxation and auditing. 

Economics

  • PLO1 - Communication: The student will have strong communication skills.
  • PLO2 - Quantitative Skills: The student will have strong quantitative skills, including the ability to use and interpret economic statistics.
  • PLO3 - Economic Way of Thinking: The student will express key economic concepts, both intuitively and more formally.
  • PLO4 - Market Organization: The student will understand how a decentralized market economy organizes economic activity as well as the factors that may impede that process.
  • PLO5 - Macroeconomic Perspective: The student will understand key macroeconomic variables and how fiscal and monetary policies affect them.
  • PLO6 - Institutions, Policy and Diversity: The student will understand how institutions, government policy and regulation affect economic growth and the relative wealth of economies.

Master of Business Administration

Master of Professional Accountancy

  • PLO8 - The student will attain the necessary knowledge and skills required to succeed in passing the CPA examination.

Master of Science in Taxation

  • PLO1 - The student will analyze and solve complex tax problems through the application of critical-thinking skills.
  • PLO2 - The student will recognize and analyze complex ethical and professional responsibility issues in the tax practice.
  • PLO3 - The student will communicate the analysis of complex tax problems clearly and effectively.
  • PLO4 - The student will research the tax literature for both structured and unstructured problems.
  • PLO5 - The student will apply complex tax knowledge and skills with a global perspective.
  • PLO6 - The student will conduct comprehensive analytical reviews of client tax returns.

Master of Science in Business Analytics
