The department offers three distinct minor programs to meet the needs of professional education within the RTM field and the university. The three minors are:

A person is encouraging and teaching another how to zipline

Minor in Hospitality and Tourism

The Hospitality and Tourism minor provides students with an understanding of how the leisure experience is facilitated through hospitality services and the travel and tourism experiences.

A person is hanging on a zipline with another catching over them a foot away

Minor in Leadership Through Adventure

The Leadership Through Adventure minor utilizes one of the historic traditions in the RTM field; adventure-based experiential learning to develop leadership skills relevant to any field.

A person in climbing up a ladder while another is holding rope.

Minor in Recreation Management

The Recreation Management minor allows for students in other disciplines to develop several core competencies in the recreation field.
