Why Get Your Added Authorizations at CSUN?

A Large Program

CSUN has one of the largest public university, education credentialing programs in the state of California.

As a result of our size, we can offer specialized instruction in the teaching of over a dozen specific subjects, rather than the generalized methods at many institutions.

Foundation of Knowledge and Research

At CSUN, we've built our programs on knowledge derived from sound theories and rigorous research. You'll be encouraged to take time for reflection, problem solving and collaboration. Our ongoing research is paired with continuous support for you, your schools, and your communities.

What You'll Learn

CSUN's comprehensive authorization program offers two options to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Autism Spectrum Disorder Added Authorization allows you to conduct assessments, provide instruction and special education-related services to individuals with a primary disability of autism.

Resource Specialist

The Resource Specialist Added Authorization allows you to conduct educational assessments, provide instruction and special education support services to students across disability areas. These students are assigned to general education classroom teachers for a majority of a school day, but are benefiting from an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individualized Family Service Program (IFSP) and/or Individualized Transition Plan (ITP).
