Holiday ADO Expiring Earn
|
An alternate day off (ADO) is a compensated day off, taken on an employee’s regularly scheduled work day, and made available to an employee assigned to a compressed/alternate work schedule when an observed holiday falls on the employee’s non-workday, pursuant to respective MOUs and CSU policy. An ADO must be used within a certain number of days after the holiday is official observed: Unit 2, 5, 7, and 9 (CSUEU): within 180 days Unit 4 (APC), 6 (Teamsters), and Confidential: within 90 days An ADO is recorded in the system based on the number of hours an employee is scheduled to work on their normal work day. All ADO Earned and Taken entries should be reported using the Partial Days indicator. |
Bereavement/Funeral |
Compensable time off due to death of an employee’s immediate family member as defined in the respective collective bargaining agreement/CSU policy provision. Family relationship required to be entered in Absence Comments. Learn more: Go to the Bereavement/Funeral Leave page |
CTO Premium Earn |
Compensatory Time Off earned at the overtime (one and one-half times) rate in lieu of cash payment for overtime. Non-exempt employees only (per department practice) to report hours worked over 40 in a given work week. Example: 2 hours reported as CTO Premium Earn will credit 3 hours to CTO Balance. |
CTO Straight Earn |
Compensatory Time Off earned at the straight (one time) rate in lieu of cash payment for overtime. Non-exempt, full-time employees only, mainly for call-back situations. Does not apply to part-time employees. Part-time employees must be paid at their regular straight rate for hours worked over their time base but under 40. Example: 2 hours reported as CTO Straight Earn will credit 2 hours to CTO Balance. |

Holiday Credit |
Unit 8 (SUPA): Paid time off that was earned by an employee in lieu of receiving cash payment for time worked on a Holiday Unit 1 (UAPD): Holiday credit is the time credited to an employee when he/she works on a holiday. |
Dock |
A loss of earnings due to a non-compensable period of absence. These absences must be reported before Payroll Cutoff. Dock absences reported after the Payroll Cutoff date will result in an overpayment and accounts receivable. |
Hourly Paid Holiday |
Holiday time pursuant to the number of hours of holiday pay that an hourly employee may be entitled to, pursuant to the respective Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or policy provision. See Hourly Holiday Pay Chart. Holiday Pay Eligible Classifications: Hourly employees who accrue leave time and Casual Workers (Job Code 1800). NOTE: Rehired Annuitants are not eligible for holiday pay regardless of job classification. |
Jury Duty |
CSU compensation and benefits continue when an employee is summoned for juror service provided that a Proof of Service or Jury Fee remittance is provided to the CSU as applicable. Learn more at Jury Duty page. |
Maternity/Paternity Leave |
(Entry by HR Admin Only) Paid leave provided to an employee who as parent, is preparing for the arrival and/or care of a new child. |
Military Leave | Paid and unpaid leave time extended to employees who are members of the Armed Forces of the United States, the National Guard or Naval Militia. CSU compensation and leave duration are contingent upon the nature of the military leave type. Learn more: Go to the Military Leave page |
Mil Spouse/Domestic Partner |
An unpaid leave of absence up to 10 days to an employee who works at least an average of twenty (20) hours per week and also is the spouse or domestic partner of a qualified member of the military on leave from deployment. |
MPP Paid Administrative Leave |
Paid leave for which a MPP employee is granted or placed by the President at a campus or the Chancellor at the Chancellor’s office pursuant to Title 5 Section 42729. |
PAL/FFCRA |
(Entry by HR Admin Only) Do not use. No longer applicable. |
No Leave Taken |
Used in instances when employees have not reported any absence taken in a given month. Time earned is not considered an absence taken. |
Parental Leave |

Personal Holiday |

Professional Development |
Time off for employees to participate in programs and activities intended to better the employee’s skills and abilities, pursuant to the respective collective bargaining unit or CSU policy. |
Sick – Self Sick – Family Care Sick – Bereavement |

Union Non-Reimbursed Union Reimbursed |
Time used by an employee represented under a collective bargaining agreement for union-related business. |
Vacation |
