
Direct Deposit

CSUN employees can easily set up Direct Deposit for seamless payroll payments. Eligible state employees can enroll through their Cal Employee Connect (CEC) account, with deposits becoming active within 30 to 60 days.
How to Enroll in Direct Deposit
- Log in to Cal Employee Connect
Go to Employee Services > Direct Deposit.
- Complete the Direct Deposit Request Form online.
- Important: You must be on the CSUN Campus or connected to the CSUN VPN to submit your request.
- First time using CEC? Enable Multifactor Authentication (MFA) before submitting your request.

Earnings are wired from the State Controller’s Office to the designated financial institution on pay day. View the Direct Deposit Schedule to identify when direct deposit will be added to your account. View the Direct Deposit Schedule here.
Changing financial institutions or account type for Direct Deposit can take up to two pay periods (30 to 60 days). DO NOT close your old account until your first payment is deposited into your newly designated account/ and or financial institution. During this transition, you will typically receive a live pay warrant from your department before your Direct Deposit account information is updated.
To cancel your direct deposit, log into the CSUN Portal Forms & Policies, click on Employee Forms and then click on the HR Direct Deposit form.
To expedite the cancellation process, contact your payroll technician after submitting the cancelation request form. To identify who is your assigned payroll technician view the HR Payroll and Operations Roster Contact Listing.
CSUN employees may view, verify, and download pay information and access forms through Cal Employee Connect (CEC). CEC allows employees to view up to four (4) years of their earnings statements (pay stubs), W-2’s, current direct deposit account information and limited personal information.
