The Oasis Wellness Center of the University Student Union encourages you to explore this list of Campus and USU Resources available to CSUN students. Make your mental and physical wellbeing a priority with the assistance of these on-campus opportunities.
University Counseling Services (UCS)
University Counseling Services provides ways for CSUN students to fulfill personal and professional dreams and get the most out of their experience at CSUN. There’s a remarkable team of psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, pre-doctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, psychiatric residents and administrative staff ready to offer students the care they seek. Each team member promises ethical, respectful and professional care.
There’s also a variety of free short-term counseling services to students including individual counseling, crisis intervention, group and workshops and psychiatric consultation.
The Klotz Student Health Center (SHC) is dedicated to providing the highest-quality healthcare to CSUN students. SHC services and educational programs are designed to help students maintain and improve their health and wellness, so they can better achieve their academic and professional goals.
All SHC services are provided to currently enrolled students at little or no cost. Basic primary care provided by nurses, physicians and nurse practitioners is free. X-rays, lab tests performed in the SHC laboratory, health education, sexual and reproductive health exams, nutrition counseling and sports medicine are also offered for free. For a nominal charge, the SHC provides acupuncture, chiropractic, specialty gynecology, optometry, physical therapy, and travel and immunization services, as well as a full-service pharmacy for prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES)
Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) is guided by the belief that each individual has strengths, abilities and talents. Through student service, training and education programs, DRES furthers the vision of an inclusive society that supports the attainment of academic, professional and personal goals for persons of all abilities.
Learning Resource Center (LRC)
The Learning Resource Center is dedicated to helping students improve their academic performance through a variety of learning programs including one-on-one and group tutoring, workshops and supplemental instruction classes.
Matador Involvement Center (MIC)
Clubs/Organizations/Greek Life
The Matador Involvement Center (MIC) is the place for CSUN students to learn more about getting involved on campus and meeting people with similar interests. This is the place where new and returning students can make a mark at CSUN by discovering clubs and organizations, fraternities and sororities, volunteer projects and resources for leadership development.
Financial Aid & Scholarship Department
The Financial Aid and Scholarship Department has information on grants, loans, scholarships, work-study or any other financial aid resource to help Matadors get the assistance they need to succeed in the classroom.
The Career Center at CSUN offers career exploration and advisement along with job-search strategies to students and eligible alumni. By providing guidance on choosing a major and advice on how to make decisions, set goals and plan, the Career Center helps students advance on their career paths.
Matty’s Closet wants to make sure CSUN students are dressed for success. Enrolled students can pick up one professional outfit free of charge by visiting Bayramian Hall 413 during Drop-In Hours.

The CSUN Food Pantry provides emergency nourishment and basic necessities at no cost to CSUN’s students. It supplies food and offers food program assistance to those who are without reliable access to affordable, nutritious food with the goal to minimize the academic impact on our students by providing the essentials. The CSUN Food Pantry is a resource for CSUN students, faculty and staff to help alleviate food insecurity and hunger within our campus community.
Financial Aid — MataCare Emergency Grant
The MataCare Grant helps CSUN students with unexpected urgent financial needs. It was established through generous contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the university who want to assist in removing unanticipated financial roadblocks to student degree completion and well-being. This Grant is not a loan and does not need to be repaid.
CSUN WITH A HEART – A Hub for Basic Needs
Addressing Hunger/Homeless and Emergency needs with Assistance and Resources Together
This online resource will helps CSUN students find valuable information that will connect them to carious resources regarding the basic needs of students and the campus community.
National Center on Deafness (NCOD)
The NCOD provides communication access, leadership opportunities, scholarships and direct communication classes for approximately 200 students who are deaf and hard of hearing each year. Registering with the National Center on Deafness allows students to receive services such as interpreting, speech-to-text transcription, note taking, tutoring and academic advisement.
Center of Achievement through Adapted Physical Activity
The Center of Achievement through Adapted Physical Activity has been providing internationally recognized adapted fitness programs for people with disabilities since 1971. It brings hope and restoration to people with special needs in a caring and motivating environment. The offer both aquatic- and land-based therapeutic exercise programs for individuals with special needs while training students and professionals in health and rehabilitation-related fields.
Institute for Community Health & Wellbeing
The Institute for Community Health & Wellbeing is a collaboration of campus and community members committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, organizations and communities within CSUN’s service region. The primary mission is to foster healthful living through community and campus partnerships.

Mental health is a key part of your overall health. Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a mental health professional. Here’s your opportunity to get a check up from your neck up. This program is completely anonymous and confidential, and immediately following the brief questionnaire you will see your results, recommendations, and key resources.
These workshops and webinars have been created to reflect the most current and relevant information on money management for college students. The information will empower students to make wise financial decisions while studying at CSUN and establish the foundation for a successful financial future.

Discover a new window into wellness by exploring an extensive eBook library, on-demand meditations and lifestyle courses. This collection provides learning opportunities about how to enhance your mental, physical and spiritual health at your leisure through comprehensive guided meditations and bestselling literature. Student Recreation Center (SRC)
The Student Recreation Center is a 138,000 square foot facility for exercise and leisure activity that promotes lifelong health and wellness. The eco-friendly resource has got it all — the most up-to-date equipment, a friendly and welcoming staff, and tons of school spirit!
Veterans Resource Center (VRC)
The Veterans Resource Center promotes the academic, personal and professional development of student Veterans, reservists, members of the National Guard and their dependents through supportive services, resources and community building events. Their mission is to assist CSUN students as they transition from military service to academic success.
The Pride Center supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQIA+) and questioning students, faculty and staff through programming and educational outreach to improve the campus climate for LGBTQIA+ individuals as well as advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.
Prayer/Meditation/Reflection Room
A full service room to accommodate all prayer, meditation or reflection needs, located on the First Floor of the East Conference Center, USU.
