Advising & Resources

Students in class Comms Studies

Advising plays a crucial role in guiding students towards academic success and career readiness. At CSUN's Department of Communication Studies, advisement is not just a service but a pivotal resource that helps students navigate their educational journey effectively.

For personalized guidance and support, students can reach out to Amanda Maisonave, our dedicated advising coordinator. Amanda serves as a central point of contact for advising, providing guidance that is tailored to your individual needs. Additionally, our esteemed tenure-tracked faculty members are also available for advisement, offering valuable insights and mentorship to help students make informed decisions about their academic paths.

Whether it's about course selection, understanding program requirements, exploring career options, or seeking guidance on a specific aspect of the Communication program, our advisors are here to help. Advisement is available throughout the academic year, and students are encouraged to schedule regular meetings to ensure they stay on track toward their goals.

For any inquiries or to schedule an appointment, students can easily reach out to Amanda Maisonave via email at or by visiting the Department of Communication Studies advising section located in the navigation menu.
