What is eCHECKUP To Go-Alcohol?

The e-CHECKUP To Go- Alcohol (Electronic Check-Up to Go) assessment is a confidential, interactive online survey that allows college and university students to enter information about their drinking patterns and receive personalized feedback, including:

  • An individual drinking profile
  • Blood alcohol content levels
  • Your average money spent on alcohol
  • Comparisons with national and CSUN students
  • Alcohol's effects on health, career and life goals, fitness and relationships
  • Referral information and resources
  • Steps to making changes

The assessment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, is self-guided and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor or administrator. Information is confidential and not identifiable to you. Only aggregate information is stored. eCHECKUP To Go is an online, evidence-based intervention developed by San Diego State University.

What does it do?

When you access eCHECKUP To Go-Alcohol, you are prompted to enter information about yourself. In addition to demographic information, you'll enter information about your drinking habits and family history then will be prompted to complete the World Health Organization's AUDIT.

When you submit the form, the information you entered is then validated and processed. eCHECKUP To Go-Alcohol calculates a number of variables and compares your responses to national and local college norms and then your personalized feedback is displayed in an easy-to-read format.

What do I need to use eCHECKUP To Go-Alcohol?

In order to use eCHECKUP To Go-Alcohol, you’ll need internet access (preferably on a computer), JavaScript enabled internet browser and a printer if you want to print the feedback.

Wellness Coaching is a free, one-on-one session with a Certified Wellness and Health Coach to help you in your quest for holistic health and wellbeing. Together with your Wellness Coach, you will set realistic and attainable wellness goals, develop personal wellness plans, discuss ways to overcome barriers, and discover your inner strengths and motivations to help you achieve optimal wellbeing and a renewed focus on academics.

Topics include:

  • Stress management
  • Sleep improvement
  • Time management
  • Test anxiety reduction
  • Adjustment to college
  • Healthy physical activity
  • Healthy eating

Sessions will be held at Oasis Wellness Center. Initial appointment is 60 min.; follow-up appointment is 30 min.
