Study Abroad
The California State University, Northridge’s (CSUN) International & Exchange Student Center (IESC) provides students with the possibility to participate in one of CSUN’s university-affiliated exchange programs, namely the California State University International Programs and the Campus Based Exchange Programs. The IESC also provides support to alumni who are interested in applying to the China Scholarship Program and the Fulbright Program.
COVID-19 UPDATE: CSUN students applying for study abroad and/or exchange should be aware that all future plans will be contingent upon CSU travel restrictions and health advisories at that time. The International and Exchange Student Center will relay any decisions that might impact program participation as updates become available. Students are encouraged to continue planning and preparing for their study abroad/exchange experience, as the IESC will continue to work with students on all possible options if any program changes do occur.

The California State University International Programs offer eligible students the opportunity to study in one of 18 countries for one academic year or one semester (limited to specific countries). The 18 countries are Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. The advisors for this program are Eleanor Wolgast and Rebecca Spector.
The Campus Based Exchange Program offers semester-long or year-long international exchange programs in various countries. These programs provide additional diverse study abroad opportunities for CSUN students to explore and consider. The advisors for this program are Eleanor Wolgast and Rebecca Spector.
Since 1999, California State University, Northridge (CSUN) students and alumni have received 67 full scholarships from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to live and study at top universities in China for one or more academic years. The Fulbright program is a prestigious fellowship sponsored by the U.S. government for U.S. graduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists.
