With a minor in psychology, you'll learn the fundamentals of how humans think and behave. You'll gain the people skills you need to succeed in any career.

At CSUN, we teach psychology that is relevant to the real world. Los Angeles is one of the world's most diverse urban regions. Yet many people lack access to mental health and wellness services because of economic and language barriers. We train our students to use their knowledge and research to serve this underserved population.

Tutoring Center

We want you to succeed in your classes. The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers free tutoring for your psychology courses to help you understand key concepts and write papers. Walk into our tutoring center or meet one of our tutors online.

Student-professor Partnerships

As a teaching university, CSUN strives to have small classroom sizes. Professors provide individual attention to students while sharing their latest published research.

What You'll Learn

The minor in psychology will give you a general overview of the field. You will take general psychology courses to learn major concepts and theories. For your upper-division courses, you will complete a breadth requirement by choosing a course from each psychology cluster:

  • Clinical/personality psychology
  • Cognitive psychology
  • Developmental psychology
  • Social psychology

You will also choose an an elective course from one of the above fields to complete your minor.
