Math Club

A group of math club students pose for a picture at their roller skating event.

At Math Club, CSUN we take pride in our mission to promote student success through community! This means that our board works hard to help our members grow as mathematicians by organizing events that bring our community closer together.

The 2023-2024 academic year was our organization's first year back on campus and it was filled with so many incredible moments. Math club hosted mathematical presentations given by PhD, masters, and undergraduate students because we wanted to expose our members to topics they’d never learned about or explored deeply in their math classes. Through these presentations we learned about topics like surreal numbers, math competitions, tsunami science, a bridge between ODE’s and Linear Algebra, and the history of Graph Theory which was super interesting. Our club also hosted meetings to spend some quality time together. We spent time watching movies, eating pizza, and even roller skating together making tons of memories in the process! Altogether it was an amazing first year spent having lots of fun and doing lots of math.

For the 2024-2025 academic year Math Club, CSUN has the goal to accomplish its mission on a bigger scale! This means that aside from our socials and presentations we plan to focus our time on getting the word out about Math Club through tabling at campus events, launching our podcast, and doing classroom presentations. We are also planning to spend time nurturing the future leaders of our club through our new Ambassador Program so that Math Club can continue being a wonderful place for years to come!
