Responsible Conduct of Research Certificate

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

Level: B, I, A

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) is a foundational program designed to introduce undergraduate students to the ethical principles, practices, and guidelines that govern research. Are you beginning your journey into research ethics? RCR training helps ensure you understand the critical importance of integrity and ethical decision-making in every phase of the research process.

RCR consists of a five-part series: CITI Program online training and four workshops that complement CITI training.

CITI Program

Level: B, I, A

The CITI Program (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) is a widely used online training platform that provides research ethics education, including courses on Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Human Subjects Research, Animal Research, and more. It is used by universities, research institutions, and other organizations to train students, faculty, and staff on ethical research practices.

The CITI Program's research ethics training provides undergraduate students with foundational knowledge in conducting ethical research across various disciplines. The goal is to ensure students understand the key principles, standards, and best practices essential to maintaining integrity, safety, and ethical standards in research.

View this 10-minute video on how to create your own account in the CITI Program and register for comprehensive research ethics training in biomedical research, social and behavioral sciences, protection of human subjects, and animal research.
