Peer Learning Facilitators for Exercise Physiology

The Kinesiology Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF) program originally began as part of a large Title V Grant project on campus in 2011. The purpose of the program was to improve student success in courses with high DUF rates. Once the original grant ended in 2014, the program has since continued with funding from Campus Quality Fees.

The purpose of the Kinesiology PLF program is to provide peer mentoring and free learning resources for students. In addition to providing student-learning support, this program also provides on-campus student jobs, which allows students to gain valuable teaching and peer mentoring experiences.

The goals of the program include:

  • Provide learning resources for students
  • Improve student success
  • Grow the peer learning and mentoring community
  • Provide valuable teaching and peer mentoring experience for students who serve as PLFs
