Prospective BSPH Students

Must Read Information about the Bachelor of Science in Public Health:

Hello! The below information is important for current majors, transfer students, and prospective Public Health majors.

To successfully complete the major, please read carefully and take note!

  • All students must complete a 4-course required sequence: HSCI 331 ---> HSCI 431 ---> HSCI 441 ---> HSCI 445
  • These courses must be taken in order; and cannot be taken at the same time!
  • New majors & transfer students should enroll in HSCI 331 as soon as they have completed 60 units!
  • The above sequence takes 4 semesters, so don’t delay. We also offer select courses over Summer.
  • See your assigned Public Health faculty advisor every semester; especially in fall when advising holds are placed.
  • See your advisor before your portal registration appointment. Over winter & summer break faculty are away from the office.
  • First, enroll in your HSCI core sequence course (331, 431, 441, or 445). Be sure to enroll in an OPEN section. Then register for all other classes around your core sequence class.
  • Please see the BSPH webpage for information regarding Internship, advising, and other essential major details.
  • Course plans for the major can be found on the BSPH webpage.
