Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
- Where do I learn more about the different pathways to earning a Multiple Subject Credential?
- Traditional Program: This program is our most flexible, and fits the needs of most candidates. Applications are accepted for both the fall and spring semesters, and can be taken full or part time. Courses are offered in the late afternoon or evening.
- ACT (Accelerated Collaborative Teacher Preparation Program): This program allows students to earn their credential in two semesters. Applications are only accepted in Fall semesters. Student in this pathway receive a cohort atmosphere with personalized advising and guaranteed course enrollment.
- ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Program):
- Freshman Option: This pathway leads to a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential concurrently. This full time cohorted program is designed for first time freshman students. Applications are only accepted in Fall semesters.
- Junior Option: This pathway leads to a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential concurrently, for those student with junior standing. Designed to be taken full or part time, applications are accepted in both Fall and Spring semesters.
- Internship Program: This program is designed for students with an offer of full time employment in a public or charter elementary position. Classes are offered in the late afternoon and evening and certain coursework can be completed on the job.

- Where do I go for advisement?
- If you are planning on applying for our Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program, you can schedule an appointment online with the Credential Office at (818) 677 – 2733 to schedule an advisement appointment. You can also contact the coordinator for your selected pathway for advisement, see the above section for contact details.
- If you are planning on applying for the ITEP Program, please contact the Liberal Studies department for advisement.

- How do I receive permission numbers for my courses?
- Click on the Permission Number Request Form link under Quick Links on the department homepage.
- Student Teaching and seminar permission numbers are issued via your CSUN email account after your student teaching application has been processed and accepted. For more information about how to apply for student teaching, please visit the Credential Office website.
- How do I find out more information regarding student teaching?

- How much does the program cost?
- Tuition is calculated by number of units you are enrolled in. For current tuition fees, visit the Student Finance page to view the University Fee Schedules.
- What are the different program options?
- We have 3 different options (30-32 units each):

- How do I set up an advisement appointment?
- For advisement, please email the Graduate Coordinator to set up an appointment.
- How do I apply for graduation or Hooding Ceremony?
- To apply for graduation, please submit the Application for Graduate Degree and Diploma form to Admissions and Records.
