Important Things to Know

CSUN has implemented academic impaction. If you’re a California resident, you’ll need to meet higher admission requirements if you’re applying to an impacted major.

If you’re out of state or a graduate of a high school outside California, are an active military student or a veteran, or you’re an international student, impaction doesn’t apply to you.

If you’re a first-generation student, you might benefit from the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). EOP provides services to historically low-income, educationally disadvantaged students who are the first in their immediate family to go to college. If you qualify for EOP, you’ll have access to a variety of additional resources to help you succeed as you earn your bachelor’s degree.

Learn more about EOP.

Our office of Veterans Affairs is available to review your documents and guide you through the admissions process.

Why CSUN?

Dulce Contreras
Connected Like a Family

Dulce grew up 10 miles from CSUN. She initially felt pressured to attend college away from home. It wasn't the right fit. Now she's thriving as a Matador and proving that, as a San Fernando Valley resident, you don't have to look far to find a great college experience.

Karina Ahumada
Setting an Example

When you choose to attend college, you're not just building your future -- you're also setting a powerful example for the younger generations who look up to you. As Karina pursues her passion for acting at CSUN, she's also teaching her younger sibling and cousins that they can achieve their dreams, too!
