What You'll Learn

As a Journalism minor, you'll take classes on the impact of mass media, news reporting, writing and ethics. You'll learn to write for a diverse audience. You'll also study how to uncover important stories or build PR campaigns for the public good.

For your upper-division courses, you'll select courses depending on your chosen area of emphasis:

  • Digital and print newspapers and magazines
  • Photojournalism and visual communication
  • Television news, radio news and public affairs programs
  • Selected topics in entertainment public relations, podcasting and sports journalism
