Broadcast Email Policy

CSUN uses a self-service model for broadcast email. This applies to all mass email communications, including survey delivery/distribution. Please refer to the How-to Guide for Building a Broadcast Email page and refer to the "Step 1" accordion to learn how to request access to CSUN's broadcast email tool.

IMPORTANT! You must receive appropriate VP approval to distribute your survey via broadcast email! Refer to the "Step 2" accordion on the How-to Guide for Building a Broadcast Email page for details (note the broadcast email request lead time). For the best chance of approval, consider the following when submitting your survey request:

  • Investigators should provide in their materials some evidence that an administrator, university committee (besides the Survey Administrative Committee), department, college, etc., is aware of your survey and has agreed to consider its results in some way that is of benefit to students.
  • In addition to academic and institutional planning, survey results may also have benefit in improving student well-being and addressing special needs.
  • Requestors should clarify in their survey request the confirmed plan for using their survey data to benefit students.
