Academic Grievance and Grade Appeal

Students can initiate a grade appeal, but first they must attempt to resolve the issue informally with the instructor and the Department Chair/Associate Dean of the college in which the course was taught by scheduling a preresolution meeting. Requests for formal resolution will not be accepted until the informal processes have been exhausted.

Questions concerning the Academic Grievance and Grade Appeal (AGGA) preresolution process can be addressed by emailing student.affairs@csun.edu. Please contact The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs for assistance prior to submitting a formal appeal. Incomplete forms will not be accepted without documentation that the informal processes have been exhausted.
