Scholarships

The Department of Psychology’s
Creative Endeavors Scholarship (CES) Application 2025
Due March 31st, 2025

Applicants must:

 

  • Have a minimum 3.0 CSUN GPA for undergraduates or 3.5 CSUN GPA for graduates. Entering graduate students must have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (Undergraduate & Credential students- 12 units, Graduate students- 8 units) during each semester scholarship funds are received.
  • Be pursuing a first bachelor's degree in psychology or an enrolled graduate student in the MS in Applied Behavior Analysis, MA in Clinical Psychology, or MA in Psychological Science (Post Baccalaureate Unclassified (PBU) students not eligible).
  • Be a declared psychology major or enrolled in a psychology graduate program

NOTE: Some individuals working on creative collaborative research or presentations might want to apply as a group. Note that awards given to a group are subject to the same limits as individual awards.

Requirements:

  • Two Letters of Recommendation (please forward this link https://tinyurl.com/CESrecletter to your letter writers)
  • Unofficial Transcripts (Degree Progress Report)
  • Proposed Creative Endeavor (2-page limit, single spaced), please include:
    • Background: include information about the creative endeavor for which you are seeking funding
    • Budget estimation: how much funding do you need to pursue the endeavor? Be as detailed as possible and include all funding needs.
    • Budget justification: describe how the scholarship funds will be used to achieve the endeavor and why they are necessary to complete the proposed creative project/endeavor.

Evaluation: proposals will be evaluated based on their creativity/novelty, the background and justification provided for the project (including citations where appropriate), the feasibility of the project and how well planned out it is, as well as the overall quality of the writing.


Awards: In past years, first place awards have been ~$800, with second and/or third place awards being $200-$400, when awarded, but amounts will vary by year, depending on availability of funds.
Due Date: CES 2025 Applications are due March 31st, 2025 at 5pm.

Decisions and notifications of award will be made by April 14th, 2025.
