Glenn Omatsu House

The Glenn Omatsu House is a department, student, campus and community center. Founded in 1992 and then known as "the Asian House", it was and still is a meeting place for AAS clubs and organizations, as well as a study-center for student groups. Class projects, presentations, and special speaker visits take place in the center, bringing together AAS students from a variety of courses. The center also functions as a meeting space for AAS faculty and faculty from other departments and colleges. The Glenn Omatsu House promotes academic and creative endeavors beyond the classroom environment.  When the Women's Research and Resource Center (WRRC) accidentally burned down in 2008, AAS offered to temporarily share part of our space with WRRC.  Because of shortage of space on campus, we continue to share the house with WRRC. In short, the Asian House originally was founded to house the Asian American Activities Center and now being renamed the Glenn Omatsu House also holds the WRRC.

The Glenn Omatsu House has been staffed and stewarded by the student-led Asian American Studies Pathways Project (AASPP) since its founding in 2017.

On April 29, 2014, CSUN had a dedication ceremony to honor our benefactor, mentor, teacher and friend, Glenn Omatsu for his dedication to student and community empowerment. His mentee and our benefactor, Prosy delaCruz, has written an article in the Asian Journal to honor Professor Glenn Omatsu's work. CSUN Sundial also covers this house dedication ceremony.
