Thesis Writing Retreat

The retreat is a Four-day event designed to support graduate students in making meaningful progress on their thesis or dissertation project. Sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies, the Office of Student Success, and the Learning Resource Center. The retreat is offered in winter and summer during the week from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.

  • ​​​​Application opens: Friday, May 15th
  • Application due date: Friday, May 29th by 5pm
  • Email notification to the selected graduate students: Wednesday, June 3rd
  • Event Starts: Tuesday, June 16th

 

  • A quiet, structured space to write
  • Interactive workshops on writing habits, goals, and project development
  • Support from peers and an expert writing consultant

Additional writing workshops on topics such as:

  • Managing your time
  • Working with your sources
  • Writing your literature review
  • Social support and peer peer-to-peer community-building activities

Attending the retreat on June 16 &18 and 23 & 25 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

  • Bring what you’ve already written/rough draft
  • Set writing goals for yourself and share those goals
