CECS494HCX Syllabus
Overview
The CECS494HCX courses are an integral component of the CECS Honors Co-Op (HC) program. Unlike departmental 494 courses, these classes are taken for a letter grade rather than Credit/No-Credit, and contribute to your CSUN GPA. Through these courses and your internship, you'll develop technical and professional skills, enhance written and verbal presentation abilities, and build organizational competencies.
These courses are exclusively available to students enrolled in the Honors Co-Op program. During the fall semester, you'll participate in the Honors Co-Op presentation competition.

Submission Guidelines
For documents requiring original signatures, such as supervisor evaluations and semester reports, you must hand-deliver the signed originals to the CECS Honors Co-Op office located in JD4508A. All other submissions should be sent electronically to ecshonorsco-op@csun.edu, where they will be automatically time-stamped to verify submission deadlines. Remember to register for your CECS494HCX class each semester; you'll receive specific instructions and registration credentials via email.
When submitting files electronically, proper naming conventions are essential for proper processing. Name your files using the format: type-lastname-firstname.extension. For example:
- form FM02 should be named "fm02-smith-john.doc,"
- FM05 as "fm05-smith-john.doc,"
- semester reports as "report-smith-john.doc,"
- presentation slides as "slides-smith-john.ppt,"
- and competition abstracts as "abstract-smith-john.doc."
Incorrect file naming may result in lost submissions and could negatively impact your grade.
Academic Integrity
Zero tolerance for plagiarism and academic dishonesty. All work must be original, with proper citation of sources. Anti-plagiarism tools like Turnitin.com may be used to verify originality. CSUN's academic dishonesty policies apply to all submitted work.
