Sponsorship

Our program creates mutually beneficial partnerships between industry leaders and our top-notch engineering and computer science students. By becoming a sponsoring employer, your organization gains early access to exceptional talent while providing students with invaluable real-world experience that enhances their academic/professional development.

Sponsor Partnership Benefits

  • Connect with exceptional students who have been carefully vetted and recommended by CSUN faculty
  • Build your talent pipeline effectively—over 93% of Honors Co-Op interns transition to permanent positions with their sponsoring companies
  • Shape future professionals by providing mentorship during their formative educational years
  • Demonstrate your commitment to developing local STEM talent in the San Fernando Valley
  • Gain fresh perspectives and innovative thinking from students with cutting-edge academic knowledge

Partnership Requirements

To ensure a high-quality experience for both students and employers, our program asks sponsoring organizations to commit to:

  1. Provide continuous employment for the intern—full-time during summer and part-time during academic terms
  2. Offer substantive technical work that complements academic learning and is approved by the CECS Honor's Co-Op Program Director
  3. Assign a company supervisor to guide the student's professional growth
  4. Work with a CSUN faculty advisor to enhance the student's learning experience
  5. Participate in three evaluation conferences throughout the year
  6. Provide appropriate wages and applicable company benefits during the student's employment at the company
  7. Complete periodic assessments of intern performance, ensuring the student's continued development
  8. Contribute to program sustainability through an annual donation:
    • $3,000 for organizations with fewer than 500 employees
    • $5,000 for organizations with more than 500 employees
    • $500 for each additional intern position

NOTE: This program operates without state funding support, so all funds received are used exclusively to continue the program for our students.
