Flexible Minor

Because of the breadth of our history program, we are able to offer a flexible minor. This allows you to work with an advisor to develop a curriculum that complements your major or area of interest. You can create a broad program that provides background in several areas of history. Or you can choose to specialize in a specific topic, such as U.S. history, Latin American history and more.

What You'll Learn

By studying history, you will learn the stories of different regions and people groups. You'll learn the historical context of the United States of America and the world, preparing you to be a better community member and global citizen. You'll also gain skills in researching, writing and critical thinking.

As a History minor, you will be able create your own program of study. You will work with an advisor to choose classes that fit your area of interest or complement your major.

  • U.S. history
  • Canadian history
  • Asian history
  • African history
  • Middle Eastern history
  • Latin American history

You can also take classes on research methods.
