One-year Program

You can complete the graduate certificate program in just one year. In your five classes, you will study anthropological methods and theories. You will also complete topical work in archaeology, biological anthropology and sociological anthropology. You'll be prepared to enter CSUN's master's degree programs in public archaeology or anthropology.

Credit Transfer

Get the most out of your courses. You can use up to nine units of credit from the certificate program to meet the degree requirements of CSUN's master's degree programs.

Through the Foundations of Anthropological Knowledge graduate certificate program, you'll gain the foundation you need to begin a master's degree in archaeology or anthropology. You'll learn general anthropological theories and methods as well as topical work in its subfields:
