About
Established in 2024 with a grant from the USDA Forest Service, the Urban Forestry Project empowers students and community members to develop a career in urban forestry and sustainability.
Our Goals
- Provide hands-on opportunities for workforce development
- Increase workforce awareness and skills in urban forestry
- Promote the benefits of native trees
- Promote knowledge in the field of environmental conservation and urban forestry
- Plant trees and engage the community in tree planting
- Establish a tribal nursery
To meet these goals, we’ve partnered with the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians and the Tataviam Land Conservancy.
