On Friday, April 18, from 12:00PM-2:00PM, the CSUN University Library is hosting an event titled; "Affordable Learning Superheroes Save the Day and Your Budget". At this event, attendees will hear from students how textbook costs have impacted their academic and personal lives, meet some faculty who have incorporated low to zero cost materials into their courses without compromising quality, learn about research, advocacy, and grant opportunities to support textbook affordability, and have a delicious lunch! Additionally, Grishma Bhavsar, Professor of Health Sciences, and Jennifer Newman, Associate Professor of Health Sciences, will give presentations. On Tuesday, April 15 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the LATC Strauss Clubhouse CSUN Act Now is hosting an event titled; "Democracy Workshop - Seeing is not Believing: Outsmarting AI-Driven Political Misinformation". This event will be hosted by Yi Ding, head of CSUN Act Now. Attendees will learn strategies to navigate the new paradigm of political discussion and misinformation, specifically with regard to misinformation created and driven by AI. he Office of Community Engagement is hosting our Annual Community-Based Research and Service Learning Symposium on Friday, April 25th in the Atrium in Extended University Commons, 10:00am - 1:00pm.
This event gives faculty, students, and community partners a chance to showcase the incredible work they have done for their community-based (service) learning projects. On top of the honor of receiving a nomination to submit a video presentation at the Symposium showcasing and celebrating their work, they can win prizes up to $500.

On Tuesday, March 11th from 11:30AM-12:45PM in the Whitsett Room (Sierra Hall 451), the CSUN College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is hosting an event titled; "Housing The Unhoused: How Can Space Planning Help?". On Friday, March 7, from 2:30-6:30PM at the USU Northridge Center, the CSUN Institute for Sustainability, in collaboration with Climate Concierge, the CSUN Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, and with the support of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is hosting an event titled; "Wildfire Discussion and Career Fair". This event will feature some great opportunities such as engaging discussions with industry professionals and community leaders about wildfire response and resilience, a career fair focusing on jobs related to wildfire management, and sustainable networking opportunities.
