How to Apply
**Please read all instructions thoroughly before applying**
Applying to the Master of Science in Business Analytics program is done through CSU APPLY and ApplyWeb.
International applicants are advised to pay close attention for additional University application requirements. Additional information can be found online at the Office of International Admissions.
Applications must include all required material and only complete applications will be reviewed by the Master of Science in Business Analytics Admissions Committee. Submitting a complete application is the responsibility of the applicant.
- Complete and submit both online applications by the application deadline. There are two application fees, one for CSU Apply and one for ApplyWeb. The CSU Apply fee is $70 (U.S.) payable to "The California State University" The ApplyWeb fee is $30 (U.S.). The fees are non-refundable and may not be transferred to another term. Specific payment instructions are available when you submit your online application.

Transcripts can be sent via email from university to university. You may ask your university to email your transcripts to: admissions.records@csun.edu. Transcripts emailed by applicants are invalid and deem unacceptable.
- (INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS ONLY) - English Language Proficiency - Please have all scores sent directly to CSUN code 4707 directly from testing agency.
TOEFL Requirement
- If a graduate applicant has earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a college or university in the U.S., the TOEFL or other English language proficiency exam is not required.
- If a graduate applicant has earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a college or university outside the U.S. where English is the principal language of instruction, the TOEFL or other English language proficiency exam is not required.
- Students who do not satisfy the requirements mentioned in the previous two bullet points require the TOEFL or other English language proficiency exam.

Academic Performance
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Be in good standing with last college or university attended
- Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher, or
- GPA of 2.75 or higher in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units
- Completion of any statistics course, or Business Analytics Foundation (SOM 591) at CSUN with a “C” or higher; or program director’s consent based on work experience in business analytics
Resume. Provide a current resume. Minimum work experience is not required but strengthens the application for competitive review in the admission process.
Statement of Purpose detailing your background, career path, professional interests, and how you plan to use your degree.
Official GMAT/GRE Score Report (taken within the past 5 years).
- Applicants to the MS Business Analytics Program in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at CSUN are generally required to supply GMAT or GRE scores (taken within the past five years) as part of their application package. Under certain circumstances, an applicant may petition to waive the GMAT or GRE requirement. Please refer to the GMAT/GRE waiver form (PDF).
Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT): To send your GMAT score report to our program, please search by California State University - Northridge or David Nazarian College of Business and Economics and then select the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at gmac.com. GRE: Results to the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) must be sent directly to CSUN from the testing agency using the school code, 4707. Testing information can be found at www.ets.org.
Scores must also be entered in the program application.
Satisfaction of the minimum admission requirements is not a guarantee of admission; admission is competitive. A holistic review of the applicant’s application will be considered in the admission decision.
