Scholarships

For Business Analytics, Information Systems, Systems & Operations Management, and Global Supply Chain Management Majors

The Systems & Operations Management Department is pleased to announce that four scholarships, each in the amount of $1000, will be awarded to current undergraduate students majoring in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Systems and Operations Management, or Global Supply Chain Management with exceptional academic achievement.  The application deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024.

PURPOSE OF THE SOM DEPARTMENT SCHOLAR AWARD:

To encourage excellence in education and superior academic performance in Business Analytics (BANA), Information Systems (IS), Systems and Operations Management (SOM), and/or Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) disciplines.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of at least 85 units toward the B.S. degree or completion of at least nine (9) units toward the M.S. degree in Business Analytics at CSUN
  • Both overall and CSUN GPAs of at least 3.5

CRITERIA FOR AWARD:

  • Meet all of the "Minimum Requirements"
  • Activities furthering knowledge in the BANA, IS, SOM, and/or GSCM disciplines
    • Community service and volunteer work at CSUN
    • Work experience in general and in BANA, IS, SOM, and/or GSCM fields
    • Affiliations, Honors, and Awards

For Systems & Operations Management and Global Supply Chain Management Majors

The Systems & Operations Management Department in conjunction with the San Fernando Valley Chapter of ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) is pleased to announce that a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a current undergraduate student majoring in SOM or GSCM.  The application deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024.

PURPOSE OF ASCM SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

  • To provide educational assistance to those students seeking to further their knowledge of the Systems & Operations Management and/or Supply Chain Management disciplines and to encourage students to pursue employment in these professions.
  • To ensure that the recipient has a better understanding of what ASCM is and that the student also shares the values of the ASCM organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of at least 75 units toward the B.S. degree
  • Both overall and CSUN GPAs of at least 2.7
  • Student member of ASCM; Contribution to the CSUN ASCM/ASQ as a board member or active student member
  • Agreement to serve on the ASCM-SFV chapter's board for 1 year as a volunteer (at no cost to the student)

Criteria for award:

  • Meet all of the "Minimum Requirements"
  • Activities furthering knowledge in the SOM, and/or GSCM disciplines
    • Community service and volunteer work at CSUN, including CSUN ASCM/ASQ
    • Work experience in general and in SOM and/or GSCM fields

For Systems & Operations Management and Global Supply Chain Management Majors

The Systems & Operations Management Department in conjunction with the San Fernando Valley Section (706) of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is pleased to announce that a scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded to a current undergraduate student majoring in SOM or GSCM.  The application deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024.

PURPOSE OF ASQ SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:

To provide educational assistance to those students seeking to further their knowledge of the Quality Management/Assurance discipline and to encourage students to pursue employment in Quality related professions.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full-time undergraduate student (enrolled in a minimum of 12 units). 
  • Both overall and CSUN GPAs of at least 3.0
  • Student member of ASQ

CRITERIA FOR AWARD:

  • Meet all of the "Minimum Requirements"
  • Activities furthering knowledge in the Quality Management/Assurance discipline
    • Community service and volunteer work at CSUN
    • Work experience in general and in Quality related fields

For Information Systems Major Only

The Systems & Operations Management Department is pleased to announce that the Chris and Karen Garlington Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a current undergraduate student majoring in Information Systems.  The application deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024.

PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP:

 To provide financial support to a student enrolled in the Information Systems (IS) major.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Students enrolled in the Information Systems major
  • A minimum of 2.8 GPA

CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Meet all of the "Minimum Requirements"
  • Scholastic achievement (minimum of 2.8 grade point average)
  • Enrollment in 15 units or more
  • First-generation college student(s)
  • Demonstrated financial need and leadership qualities

For Information Systems Major Only

The Systems & Operations Management Department is pleased to announce that the Midori Murata Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a current undergraduate student majoring in Information Systems.  The application deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024.

PURPOSE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP:

To provide financial support to a student to a student enrolled in the Information Systems (IS) major.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Student enrolled in the Information Systems major
  • A minimum of 2.8 GPA

CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Meet all of the "Minimum Requirements"
  • Scholastic achievement (minimum of 2.8 grade point average)
  • Enrollment in 15 units or more
  • Demonstrated financial need and leadership qualities
