Community Service
The Center supports research, community service, and education in Physical Therapy.
The student-run CSUN Pro Bono Physical Therapy Clinic, MPT, began serving the public in 2019. Working with UCLA Mobile Clinic, third- and second-year students collaborate to offer pro bono physical therapy to the unhoused at the Hollywood Salvation Army parking lot -- usually every other Wednesday, from 6 to 9 pm. Students learn how to listen, engage, evaluate and treat this unique population outdoors with limited equipment. Many therapists-in-training find it a valuable and oftentimes profound experience.
