I've Been Admitted

Majoring in Child and Adolescent Development provides a wonderful foundation for a wide-range of careers and professional pathways. Check out more information here on related CADV career pathways.

Are you thinking about changing your major to CADV but first want to know if you've taken any classes that count towards the major?

  • View our Advisement Resources to learn how to temporarily change your MAP and "peek" at how your past courses would hypothetically align with the current CADV major. You can also attend one of our advising workshops.

View the list of course requirements from our two BA options and read about the differences.

Be Part of Our Freshman Connection Program

The Freshman Cohort Program (aka Galaxies) gives you a “VIP experience” as an incoming freshman student. You will get to work with some of our finest and most sought-after instructors in your CADV 150, CADV 180 and UNIV 100 classes. Because you’re in our Freshman Cohort Program, you will have unique opportunities to connect with your fellow peers in small classes and have first access to some of our department’s activities and programs! Students in our past Freshman Cohorts have raved about their experience and said how it made a memorable and smooth transition to life in college!

Be Part of Our Transfer Student Connection Program

The Transfer Cohort Porgram provides incoming transfers with an opportunity to meet others in their major, and learn about the specific campus resources and opportunities related to their major and college. Students enroll in UNIV 301, which guides and supports students as they join the CSUN community. Small class sizes allow students to meet other new transfers and begin building a sense of belonging on campus. Students will learn about the CSUN resources and services available to help them. Through course assignments, activities, and discussions, students will discover their personal strengths and interests, create career tools (e.g., resume, Linked In profile), a semester-by-semester plan for graduation, and begin planning for post-graduation.
