CSUN Fire Advisory and Resources

Dear Campus Community,
Evacuations are occurring in parts of the State Route 126/Interstate 5 area – including Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru, Castaic, and Santa Clarita – due to the Hughes Fire.
The CSUN campus remains open and safe, but those in our community who live in affected areas may wish to access information and resources (partial list below) to inform you about possible evacuations, road closures, and other impacts.
Instructors are asked to exercise latitude in accommodating impacted students. Students unable to attend class should notify their instructors.
If you are a faculty member and have questions, please contact Faculty Affairs (818-677-2962) for any assistance you may need.
Managers are encouraged to be flexible with employees who have been impacted. This includes work locations and schedules. Employees planning to return home from campus today or to work remotely (who have work to fulfill at home) instead of coming to campus for the duration of this fire event should connect with their managers immediately. Departments should consider the impact of changes in staffing and office operations. This may include the need to reach out directly to students with appointments or other reasons that would bring them to campus. Please contact HR Employee Relations (818-677-6566) with any questions.
At CSUN we will continue to actively monitor health and safety conditions, inclusive of air quality, and we will communicate further updates or changes.
