Program Student Learning Outcomes (PSLOs) Assessment Framework
This assessment initiative measures broad learning within the program and the acquisition of specific skills. Proficiency in PSLOs is a valuable metric for ongoing program enhancement, accreditation reporting, comprehensive program reviews, and content mastery. By evaluating students across multiple courses, this approach identifies inconsistencies in expectations or services, particularly for specific student groups.
Key Questions Addressed:
- Are students achieving proficiency in all key areas by graduation?
- Is the program effectively preparing students for the field?
- Are students demonstrating appropriate progress at crucial points in the program?
- Are there specific gaps or areas of learning that require attention?
- Which student groups may need additional support?
- How can the program leverage PSLO assessment findings for continuous improvement?
- What adjustments can be made to enhance the alignment of PSLOs with industry or field expectations?
- How can PSLO assessment data inform the program's strategic planning and resource allocation?
