Institutional Student Learning Outcomes
Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLO) Assessment Framework
This assessment framework serves as a comprehensive tool for gauging the progression of all students toward overarching goals, employing a robust and consistent sampling method. Its continual use offers valuable formative insights for students and provides a transparent view of each academic program's distinct contributions to student development.
Key Questions Addressed:
- Are all students achieving proficiency across all ISLO areas?
- Do equity gaps exist at the campus, college, or class level? If so, where do gaps exist?
- Are students on track to attain proficiency in areas beyond the central focus of their program?
- What courses contribute meaningfully to the achievement of ISLOs?
- How can programs leverage ISLO assessment findings for continuous improvement?
- What adjustments can be made to enhance the alignment of ISLOs with basic industry standards/expectations?
- How can ISLO assessment data inform the college’s strategic planning and resource allocation?
