Events for New Matadors

These events will assist you with transitioning to CSUN and introduce you to the campus, our programs and our community of students, faculty and staff. Your participation is required, where indicated.

For all students

• Required: Sign up for New Student Orientation. It’s required for incoming freshmen, transfer students and international students.
• Recommended: Get answers to your questions at our annual Admitted Matadors Day event.
• Of interest:
  • Campus Tours — In-person and virtual tours offer the chance to connect with Outreach Interns, get to know the campus and learn about life as a CSUN student.
  • University Calendar — A listing of events across campus: celebrations, cinema, concerts, discussion forums, exhibits, lectures, sports, training, theatre and more

For graduate students

• Attend Graduate Student Orientation, which covers events, financial opportunities and academic policies for master’s and doctoral students. Visit the Graduate Studies website for the live presentation in the fall, or view the online presentation anytime in your first semester.
• Master’s and doctoral student events — The Office of Graduate Studies organizes online and in-person events that support student success to move you forward in your studies and career.

For international students

• New International Student Orientation — Required and tailored especially for incoming international students
• Get Involved — The International and Exchange Student Center organizes programs and events for international students and scholars. Join us for a variety of social, academic and cultural activities throughout the year as you settle into the CSUN community and adjust to living in the U.S.

Arts and Entertainment

Enjoy arts and entertainment on campus and off. There’s no shortage of great ways to enjoy your free time as a CSUN student. Explore Student Life for a glimpse of the many events and activities available to Matadors. There’s also the Soraya — CSUN’s center for the performing arts — and campus is just a short drive from the bright lights of Hollywood, iconic beaches, wonderful museums, sporting events and more!
