Take advantage of the many events and activities happening in Academic Affairs and across campus!  There is something for everyone!

Help gather 3 tons of food for the CSUN Food Pantry!  The "Fill the Pantry" Food Drive, led by the Criminology and Justice Studies department, is taking place Oct. 31-Nov. 4, 2022.  Non-perishable food items and toiletries may be dropped off at the Office of the Provost, 220 Valera Hall.  Read more here.   

Academic Technology would like to invite all faculty to the Spook-TECH-ular Halloween Open House in the Faculty Media Studio located at the Garden Level of the University Library (Room 34) on October 31 from 1pm to 5pm! 

Join us to see demos of the newest instructional technologies, accessibility tools, try out our Lightboard and meet Academic Technology and Faculty Development teams! Win prizes and enjoy candy and home-baked cookies! We hope to see you there!

Canvas Ally is a new CSUN service to help make course materials in Canvas more accessible.

Panopto Audio Descriptions: Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am (Great for faculty!)

This session demonstrates how to upload and create audio descriptions to your Panopto videos in the Panopto Editor. Audio descriptions provide all students with visual context of what is being presented in a Panopto video. These descriptions will be read out loud during the video's playback.

UC–CSU Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects and Meetings
November 3, 2022, 1:00pm; December 7, 2022, 3:00pm
The UC–CSU Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects (ECCLPs) is an innovative partnership between the UC and CSU systems and community-based partners, to advance prekindergarten through 12th grade (PK–12) climate and environmental literacy, justice, and action. The Executive Committee launches ECCLPs Climate and Environmental Justice Literacy Initiatives for all of California’s high school graduates to be literate in climate change and environmental justice issues and solutions. On-campus meetings or Zoom meetings are open for registration now. NSF Fall 2022 NSF Virtual Grants Conference
The National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Fall 2022 NSF Virtual Grants Conference is now open for registration on the conference website. This virtual conference will be broadcast live on Zoom during the week of November 14 – 17, 2022. The most up-to-date conference information and the conference agenda are also available on the website.

Jerome Richfield Memorial Fellow Nominations
Nominations are being accepted through November 7th for the 2023 Jerome Richfield Memorial Fellow. The Fellow presents a lecture at the Provost’s Colloquium Series, which is designed to highlight and celebrate the scholarly achievements of our faculty, and to provide an opportunity for socialization among faculty, administrators, students, and staff. We are looking for scholars who are accomplished members of our faculty and of their discipline who are conducting research that is of broad interest to the public. RSP will provide three (3) units of reassigned time to assist the Fellow in preparing for the lecture.  Please nominate through InfoReady with your CSUN Credentials. This Fall, the student assistants and staff from the University Library’s Creative Maker Studio will host 14 different workshops (with 7 brand new topics!) on creative software and topics from Monday, November 7th  to Friday, November 18th. In-person and online workshops are available to current CSUN students, staff, and faculty.

The WHAT WOULD YOU SAY? exhibition at the CSUN Arts Galleries explores the intersection of inventive design and political activism. The exhibit will be on display until December 3.  Open Monday- Saturday: 12pm - 4pm, the gallery is free and open to the public.
