In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours and participation in assessment of student learning. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are employed. 

Current Salary Range:

  • The anticipated hiring range based on degrees and qualifications is: $5,507 - $6, 677 (from $1,101 - $1,335 per 3-unit course per month, for a six-month pay period)

Current Courses or Specialization:

  • SUS 500: Foundations of Sustainable Systems and SUS 510: Resource Use and Management
    • Graduate courses that focus on the foundations of sustainability from a broad, systems-level approach and current and best practices for resource use, monitoring, and management.
    • Topics include human impacts on the environment, ecological systems and natural resources; food and agriculture; energy, water and waste; transportation and the built environment; corporate social responsibility; the psychology of change; and current and best practices for resource use, monitoring, and management.
  • SUS 520: Regulatory Framework for Sustainability
    • Graduate course that examines the law and regulatory policy governing the operation of businesses and organizations and their impact on sustainability.  
  • SUS 530: Mixed Methods in Sustainability Research
    • Graduate course that provides an overview of the quantitative and qualitative methodologies utilized by practitioners of sustainability  
  • SUS 540: Sustainable Business Practices
    • Graduate course that provides an interdisciplinary exploration of strategic issues in sustainability, including economic development, community development, and entrepreneurship. Uses various frameworks such as systems thinking to analyze opportunities and threats sustainability creates for organizations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Sustainability, Geography, Environmental Studies, Business, Economics, or another relevant science or social science field; professional experience in sustainable business practices, economic development, community development, and/or entrepreneurship preferred.  
  • Demonstrate commitment to working with and mentoring a diverse student population.
