Nanoscience and Materials Workshop for High School Teachers, April 2014

K-12 Program

Objective: To build partnerships with local high schools and encourage students to participate and develop interest in Materials Science research here at California State University Northridge.


Dr. Nicholas Kioussis begins the Nanotechnology workshop with an overview of the current research being conducted at CSU Northridge. High school teachers from within the San Fernando Valley were invited to participate in workshop in the hopes of fostering partnerships among their respective schools and encouraging their students to come to CSU Northridge and conduct research in this field.

K-12 Program

Overview: The California State University Northridge (CSUN) Department of Physics and Astronomy in conjunction with the W.M. Keck Computational Materials Theory Center have held a Nanotechnology workshop to introduce local high school teachers to the field of Material Science.

In this way, we hope to encourage the students from these high schools to come to CSUN and conduct research in this field.
