La Casita
La casita is a shared resource with American Indian Studies and Central American and Transborder Studies between Bookstein Hall and the Chicano House. It’s used by students for gathering and studying and just having a place to hang out, and is also used by faculty for meetings, and for dept and student events. It also has a small vegetable garden being actively worked and tended by students.
We try keeping la casita open during peak hours Mondays through Fridays, staffed by student assistants from both departments, and anyone is welcome stopping in for a planned visit or even if just wandering by.
